The \u20ac70-million plant will produce the Danish company&#8217;s prefilled FlexPen devices. The project is tentatively expected to go for five years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ole Moelskov Bech of Novo Nordisk opines that the move demonstrates the company&#8217;s long-term commitment to the middle-eastern nation where nearly five million people are diabetic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Novo, the world&#8217;s biggest diabetes drug maker already has a subsidiary in Iran. The subsidiary has been selling insulin products and has a staff of 130 personnel since a decade.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The company is among a tiny group of European companies to have made major deals in Iran subsequent to the Iran nuclear program deal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The medical sector was out of American, UN and European Union sanctions. The latter was designed to affect industries having the potential of conducting nuclear activities as well as finance, technology and an embargo on oil. However, the restrictions have made it difficult to do business in Iran.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Even though foreign businesses did not leave Iran&#8217;s medical industry in the lurch, the sanctions made the situation difficult. This was because many rules were required to be adhered to in software and banking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Novo Nordisk A\/S (ADR)(NYSE:NVO) was unable to utilize the same software platforms as in the rest of the enterprise, compelling the organization to devote time on work around solutions. This was just one of the problems of working in the Islamic nation subject to international sanctions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many European ministers have frequented Iran with members of the business community subsequent to a landmark nuclear deal struck between Iran and six world powers. However, most western organizations are waiting for concrete measures on the nuclear front and the elimination of sanctions before making commitments on the business
