According to Google\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, Larry Page, the firm will come up with technology that will address urban issues such as energy use and transport in cities as congestion continues to increase.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sidewalk will operate under the leadership of Dan Doctoroff, who is the former CEO of Bloomberg. He has also held the position of deputy mayor for economic development and rebuilding in New York.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Google together with other technology firms are responsible for changing the outlook of the media industry, the world of commerce and the availability of information. These companies have managed to do so using websites and applications that place their focus on basic things like traffic information, shopping, and much more. Sidewalk claims that technology does not put enough focus on the tougher issues such as ways to lower the cost of living, reducing the government&#8217;s wastage, cutting down energy use or making transportation easier.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Google has not disclosed how much money will go into the startup. However, Larry Page compared the new firm with Google\u2019s other ventures such as Google X, and Calico. The latter is a health firm that carries out research on anti-aging technology while the former deals with long-term research ventures such as self-sustaining automobiles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)\u2019s investment in the new company will most likely be like that o Calico where it will pump in funds on intervals. The strategy might also involve picking a project and selecting an alternative experienced executive from another firm to manage the project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some o Google\u2019s shareholders are airing concerns that the company has been spending too much on technology that might never make profits. Some of Google\u2019s past projects such as Google X drone failed. However, Google\u2019s co-founder Sergey Brin has voting control of the company&#8217;s multiple share class structures.
