The company is the largest independent Coca-Cola bottler. Its supplies its product to many countries including Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, and Great Britain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2014, Coca-Cola company together with <strong>PepsiCo, Inc. (NYSE:PEP)<\/strong> and <strong>Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. (NYSE:DPS) <\/strong>made a vow to reduce beverage calories by 20% in the United States. The company\u2019s projected the changes to be in effect by 2025.their strategy includes low-calorie beverages and bottled water.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The three beverage companies struck the deal with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, and the American Beverage Association.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Alliance for a Healthier Generation is a spin-off of the Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association. The interest of these associations is to ensure health regulations are followed especially through the quality of production.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2013, Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc (NYSE:CCE) also announced that it would widen its low-calorie drinks distribution with more drinks such as Coke Zero. The company also made a resolution to stamp the calorie count on the bottles labels for all the drinks. The decisions to change the level if calories were also influenced by market research. The company reported that Diet Coke and a few other low-calorie drinks made a third of the total sales in the United States and Mexico.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The research pointed out that more people have grown more conscious to healthier drinks, thus the need for the beverage company to reevaluate the calorie count. All over the world, people have started to observe healthier living to avoid lifestyle diseases and conditions such as diabetes and obesity. Thus the adoption of healthier foods and drinks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The resolutions are meant to ensure customers do not seek other options like in the case of McDonald\u2019s. The former food giant has been losing most of its clientele to healthier foods. Coke also plans to be more environmentally friendly by reducing carbon emissions.
