GW Pharmaceuticals is all set to enter the final stages and get the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for an epilepsy treatment using cannabis. The company has also recruited <strong>Allergan, Inc. (NYSE:AGN) <\/strong>Head Julian Gangolli to help Gover set up a stronghold in the U.S. market. GW Pharma has decided to make Southern California as their U.S. headquarters, and the company is positive that the time is now.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The company&#8217;s Chairman Dr. Geoffrey Guy confirmed the news and said that Epidiolex drug for treating epilepsy was in its final stages. GW has plans to launch it in U.S. Building the infrastructure before the launch was important, according to Guy. He said that Guy had expertise in the U.S. pharmaceutical market, while Guy was aware of everything that GW was aiming to do in the present and future. Guy was sure that both Gover and Guy are together going to help bring effective treatment to the patients in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gangolli was also very passionate about expanding GW&#8217;s presence in the U.S. market. He said that he was sure that if the Epidiolex gets approval, then the company would be able to help the patients live a healthy life. The company will also continue its expansion plans in the U.K. markets and also work on the pipeline project. At present, the company has 325 employees that are a considerable jump from a 190 staff presence in 2013.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At present, the company is undergoing a Phase 3 trial for Epidiolex. This will examine the effect of the treatment in reducing seizure rates for patients that are suffering from rare epileptic disorders like Dravet and Lennox-Gastaut syndromes. As the company continues to register gains in the share prices over positive results of their past studies, GW is optimistic that the study results would also be favorable. Currently, the company has associated with <strong>Otsuka Holdings Co Ltd (TYO:4578)<\/strong> in the U.S. for the development of cancer pain treatment.
