By this it will get ad revenue from publishers and keep the users engaged with its site for longer. Facebook expects that this will significantly improve article loading speed especially on mobile devices. The company is facilitating publishers to deliver a better display of images and video. Some people are worried that the deal will grant Facebook hegemony over the news business.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What are Instant Articles<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Instant Articles are stories from prestigious news outlets that appear within Facebook&#8217;s iPhone app as a whole instead of a link to some website on the Internet. To put it simply, via your Facebook app you can read the latest news. The main thing that will happen is that news articles from media organization signed up with Facebook will load much more quickly than they did before. As per the new model, publishers will upload their articles to Facebook that will be hosted on Facebook&#8217;s servers. Facebook will optimize the way articles are delivered to it. Facebook is also talking about other features such as the capability to zoom in on images and autoplay videos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The arrangement was the subject of speculation for quite a while and is fairly controversial. Many are concerned that it would weaken the power of publishers to control their content.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Publishers are partially dependant on traffic emanating from Facebook. Also Facebook decides which content is posted in its users news feed. As a result, Facebook enjoys considerable leverage. Some publishers feel that if they don&#8217;t participate in Instant Articles initiative Facebook will downgrade their sites in terms of importance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The program does have benefits for publishers. The latter get access to Facebook&#8217;s strong advertising program. Facebook has a lot of information regarding its users which enable them to target ads at the most interested ones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) ads will be placed next to Facebook hosted articles. Facebook will dole out seventy percent of the revenue generated through these ads to the publishers.
