The Chinese smartphone market has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/china-smartphone-market-shrinks-for-first-time-in-six-years\/\">plunged<\/a> for the first time in the last six years. It&#8217;s not ideal news for someone who&#8217;s trying to enter in China for the first time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Trend In Past Few Months: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The data collected by IDC in the previous quarter clarifies that smartphone market plunged 4% in 1Q2015 on YOY basis. Total units shipped in the previous quarter were 98.8 million, down 8% from 4Q2014. Market experts deny calling it saturation. According to Kitty Fok, Country Managing Director, IDC, the fall in the smartphone market is not because the smartphones are getting saturated in the country. China is considered as an emerging smartphone market, but the reality is far from it. Most of the phones sold in the China are smartphones, similar to countries like U.K., U.S., Japan and Australia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She further added that the primary driving force to bring China out of this miserable situation will be the consumers. Just like developed markets, existing users as well as those who wish to upgrade to a higher version of smartphones will play a key role in the growth and development of Chinese market once again.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The smartphone company that topped the previous quarter in terms of number of units sold was Apple. The primary reason behind this unimaginable growth was the popularity of iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus in the country due to their larger screen sizes and amazing features. The second rank was grabbed by the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi followed by Huawei Electronics.
