(NASDAQ:ROSE)<\/strong>, a small independent oil and gas producer, jumped up 27.19% yesterday on the back of the news of its acquisition by the larger oil and gas producer <strong>Noble Energy, Inc. (NYSE:NBL)<\/strong>. The trading volume surged to an all time daily high of 28 million, almost 7 times the daily average of 4 million only. Despite a bout of intraday profit booking, the stock managed to protect almost all of its gains.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rosetta Resources Inc. (NASDAQ:ROSE) shareholders will be given 0.542 shares of Noble Energy stock for each share of Rosetta Resources when the merger is complete, as the deal consists of all-stock and debt assumption. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter. The investors interested in holding Noble Energy shares and saving taxes may just stand and wait for the deal to be completed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cablemanpro.com\/wallstreetpr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/ROSE.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-36007 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cablemanpro.com\/wallstreetpr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/ROSE.jpg\" alt=\"ROSE\" width=\"644\" height=\"458\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cablemanpro.com\/wallstreetpr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/ROSE.jpg 644w, https:\/\/cablemanpro.com\/wallstreetpr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/ROSE-300x213.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cablemanpro.com\/wallstreetpr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/ROSE-77x55.jpg 77w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 644px) 100vw, 644px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rosetta Resources Inc. (NASDAQ:ROSE) had announced its first quarter result last week, which was not very encouraging. The company had increased its production to 66,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, up by 21% on a y-o-y basis and towards the high end of its guidance range but the decline was unmistakable when compared to the last quarter, when the production rate was 73,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. On the other hand, a 15% increase in the lease operating costs on a per unit basis due to the lower volumes and a 9% increase in the treating and transportation costs, combined with weak commodity prices, led to an adjusted loss of $8.6 million or 13 cents per share.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Technically, the stock is testing the upper boundary of the range established in the last 6 months and unless it manages to trade above $25.20 levels firmly right now, the probability of reverting back into the range for the next few days may get stronger.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rosetta Resources Inc.
