Brian Roberts, the Chief Executive also informed about a new voice-controlled remote control for company\u2019s X1 operating system. It is an unique system that can look in and record tens of thousands of movies and TV shows with voice commands like &#8220;Record Saturday Night Live&#8221; or &#8220;Watch ESPN.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The significance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As the competition heats up, Comcast and several other pay TV service providers are looking for new measures to lure and keep subscribers. The company announced that the new feature will be available on the X1 platform in the coming period. It will include TV shows, on-demand movies, and live content and digital video recordings. The Kids Zone will also highlight reviews and ratings from Common Sense Media, a non-profit entity that focuses on the impact of technology and media on children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The event<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CEO of Comcast showcased the new features of Kids Zone at the Internet &amp; Technology Expo. It is a popular industry trade show organized in Chicago. He used the voice-controlled remote control and ordered it to locate &#8220;<em>life is like a box of chocolates<\/em>,&#8221; directing the screen feature &#8220;Forrest Gump&#8221; scene that included the quote.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Moving on<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He opted for a light joke on its failed bid for <strong>Time Warner Cable Inc (NYSE:TWC)<\/strong>. He instructed the remote to show the Comcast and Time Warner Cable Merger. On the instruction, an explosion scene from the &#8220;Fast &amp; Furious&#8221; movie series appeared on screen. The new Xfinity remote, as named by Comcast, also set DVR recordings and get recommendations. The Chief Software Architect Sree Kotay said that say it and see it.
