The company made the decision in response to the increasing demand by the company\u2019s commercial and company vehicle clients. The particular group of customers has been lobbying for the company to produce more pickups and vans that run on compressed gas or propane. The reason being, CNG automobiles are more efficient, thus making it considerably easier for companies to manage their convoy of vehicles. The vehicles also have very low carbon emissions and are thus eco-friendly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Compressed natural gas goes for an equivalent of $2.11 per gallon of petrol on average. It is even lower in some regions. These figures represent a greater savings average especially when compared with diesel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ford reported that demand for vehicles that run on CNG was on the rise especially within the five years since the company started the venture. Ford also reported record sales to the tune of 16,821 commercial automobiles that are fitted with CNG or propane engines. The giant automobile company projected stronger sales in 2015. So far, the company has sold well over 57,000 CNG-powered vehicles since 2009.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The automobile company has thus been able to secure a solid lead as the best CNG vehicle manufacturer, based on the huge preference for its vehicles. The sales number doubles the sales from all other manufacturers combined. There are extra costs incurred to convert the vehicles as well as including all the fittings for the natural gas system. These costs can amount up to $9000 or even more. The extra expenses have not affected sales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The F-150 pickups have particularly been popular with the conversion kits perhaps due to the available space. It could also be because they are multi-purpose vehicles that are very capable. Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) plans on making extra changes especially considering the weight of the system.
