(NASDAQ:AAPL) <\/strong>and <strong>Google<\/strong><strong> Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)<\/strong>. Looking at the wider picture, the company sees to be more into discovering new technology rather than developing existing technology products. In 2014, Microsoft recorded a profit of $22 billion, revenue of $87 million and $95 million in cash. But then why is till still not at the top?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The answer was given by Microsoft\u2019s Chief Executive Satya Nadella in an interview in April 2015. He said, \u201cWhat gets lost is we wouldn\u2019t be who we are and as successful as we have been if we didn\u2019t have a decent batting average. I think we would be dead and gone if we were just mostly failing. It\u2019s just that our average in the last five years has not been as great as, let\u2019s say, Apple\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Surviving on Research<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The research wing is the safest bet for Microsoft as it has tried hands on product manufacturing, and, even though, the company was able to make working products, something has been amiss. Even though Microsoft has always tried to spearhead some new technology in the market, it has often fallen because of conflicts between the various departments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since Nadella joined in February 2014, he has tried to refine the system, and they are into a lot of new products nowadays. On April 27, Executive Vice President Harry Shum launched the Skype Translator. This is a new technology that is helping in facilitating communication and decodes the language as per the requirement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Game Changing Vision<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now the company is keen on making public its HoloLens technology. It demonstrated the technique on April 27 as a tool to aid medical students. The company also bought popular fame game Minecraft from $2.5 billion in September 2014 and showed it on HoloLens.
