(NYSE:VZ)<\/strong> is now introducing a new TV package that will allow its FIOS clients to select additional channels that they can include in the standard fixed bundle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new custom channel selection combined with the standard package will require a $65 subscription fee. The standard fixed bundle contains 36 channels with the likes of CNN, AMC, among others. The company will allow the subscribers of the new package to customize their service list by bringing two different cluster of channels every month. Each cluster will be grouped according to genre, ranging from sports to kids entertainment and many more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each of the extra packages will be available for $10. Additionally, they can be switched on a monthly basis. There are seven packages to choose from. The new service is not really a full menu programming. However, it does give an option of customizing the content you wish to watch.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ)&#8217;s new move may be partly influenced by the growing competition from rival TV content providers. One of the rivals is Sling TV, whose TV service includes a fixed channel bouquet that costs $20. Its extra available bundles cost a mere $5 each, and the company gives subscribers more variety.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Verizon\u2019s new service is now available to new and existing subscribers. The project is a great way to offer clients a more satisfying experience and good value for their money. It is also a marketing move by the company in an attempt to maintain the current clientele as well as gaining new subscribers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The extra packages are optional. Some clients may feel that it is too pricey or feel that they are more comfortable with their current subscription. Reviews of the new packages suggest a bit of dissatisfaction with some of the bundles especially the sports section. However, the company maintains that the packages are aimed at maintaining a competitive interest as well as providing variety to customers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Verizon hopes that the new move will attract more attention to its growing clientele.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Verizon Communications Inc.
