The latter comes with certain improvements on its predecessor the Lumia 535 dual SIM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the new offering, Microsoft has yet again increased the spectrum of price points and features in its lower-tier devices. The Smartphone&#8217;s OS is Windows 8.1 and has a five inch display. The Smartphone will start being available to the Middle East, Asia Pacific, India, and Italy this May at a retail price of $149. It is mainly targeted at the emerging markets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Curiously timed release<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The release is a bit odd as Microsoft just introduced the similarly priced and specced Lumia 535 dual SIM last November costing $140. It must be admitted that the 540 incorporates some improvements over its forerunner. The two smartphones have the same processor, display size, and memory. But the latest Smartphone has a larger battery, superior display resolution, and enhanced main camera.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The difference<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Similar to the Lumia 535, the Lumia 540 is a 3G phone.As a result of a bigger battery, the standby period with the 540 dual SIM is 24 days while the period of the Lumia 535 dual SIM was 14 days. The phone comes in a range of colors including cyanide, white, orange and matte black. Interestingly the Lumia 535 has a broader range of colors. The device is specifically designed to be compatible with the soon to be released Windows 10.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the new Smartphone, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)\u00a0boasts of over 30 separate variants of Lumia Smartphone currently available. This has let down US based Windows Phone fans who were anticipating a brand new flagship.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Microsoft has assured of a fresh high-end Smartphone in 2015 running on <strong>QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM)\u2019<\/strong><strong>s<\/strong> Snapdragon 810 processor.
