(NASDAQ:XLRN)<\/strong> announced on 14th October that\u00a0 it has kick started phase 1\u00a0 clinical testing of its drug candidate ACE-083 . The drug candidate could be a god send to patients since it is designed to expand and increase the mass of chosen muscles. It blocks protein super family called \u201cTransforming Growth Factor-Beta (TGF-\u03b2)\u201d which influences the growth of muscles. Drug maker\u2019s Chief Executive Officer John Knopf, Ph.D. has expressed his happiness that the company has introduced \u201canother first-in-class protein therapeutic\u201d drug into human testing. The drug maker is expected to provide succour to \u201cpatients suffering from muscular and neuromuscular diseases\u201d in the event of the drug getting approved by FDA.<\/p>\n<p>Solar technology solution provider <strong>Sunedison Inc (NYSE:SUNE)<\/strong> announced on 14th October that it has launched a new solar module technology which is based on \u201cnew zero white space\u201d platform. The clean energy solution provider has asserted that the implementation of this new technology would help increase solar power output by nearly 15 percent. It also has established that the total system cost would be cut by 8 percent by implementing this new solution. The new technology works on the concept of \u201creducing the total unused area of the solar panel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Service optimization technology solutions provider <strong>Allot Communications Ltd. (NASDAQ:TASE) <\/strong>and optical solutions provider MRV Communications \u2122, Inc.
