(NASDAQ:FB)<\/strong> have been enjoined in a raging debate as to whether women should be allowed to undergo invasive procedures to delay <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/2014-10-15\/apple-facebook-to-pay-for-women-employees-to-freeze-eggs.html?cmpid=yhoo\" target=\"_blank\">childbirth<\/a> in order to pursue their careers. People are already asking whether employers by doing so are suggesting motherhood and careers are incompatible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Facebook Offering $20,000 Invasive Package<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The sentiments were echoed in the wake of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) announcing that starting next year it will offer insurance cover to women employees who decide to freeze their eggs. Facebook was the first one to start the scheme and is currently providing cover to its employees and their spouses. Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) reportedly offers a coverage of up to $20,000 going directly to cover for expenses related to surrogacy or court fees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) spokeswoman has already reiterated that Apple\u2019s latest move is only intended to empower women to do their best at work while also taking care of their loved ones. Women still remain underrepresented in most of the big companies as a percentage of the total workforce.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Support from Advocacy Groups<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) has already defended itself through its spokeswoman Genevieve Grdina. The giant social company stated that remains willing to offer other benefits in situations where one might need a transition back to parenthood after an invasive procedure. Some of the benefits on offer include nursing rooms on campus as well as subsidized care. Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) also offers $4,000 in baby cash when a baby is born or adopted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The payment package initiated by Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB), Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and other tech companies has already been praised by a number of women advocacy groups but still highlights the extent that tech companies are willing to go to protect top talent.\u00a0 <strong>Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG)<\/strong> reportedly offers similar care packages to its female staff.
