The company announced yesterday that Purion XE will now be placed as the first high energy implanter at the customer&#8217;s site to be used for production of advanced power devices in high volumes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>High Productivity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Purion XE was able to beat competitors&#8217; systems due to its capability to supply dramatic higher productivity. According to the company, the system was shipped in the third quarter. The order from the new customer takes the total customers for Purion XE to three within this year itself. John Aldeborgh, who is Executive Vice President for customer operations, said that they are very excited with the acquisition of a new client for Purion XE. The new order reinforces the confidence in not only its product, but also in Axcelis Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:ACLS). Aldeborgh stated that the addition of the new customer has placed the company in a strong position to develop and expand its platform footprint amid growing customer manufacturing capabilities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Sale And Lease Of Headquarters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Other than this, Axcelis Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:ACLS) has also entered into a sale and leaseback transaction with Middleton Partners LLC with respect to its property at 108, Cherry Hill Drive in Beverly, Mass. The purchase price of the deal is valued at $50 million, in which, the company will receive net proceeds of close to $35 million after taking the mortgage and expenses into account. The closure of the sale will take place in the next 45 days and the lease tenure will be upt0 22 years for the company. The company has long been looking forward to monetize its asset.
