(NYSE:VZ)<\/strong>\u2019s Verizon Foundation, has granted 48 New England domestic violence prevention organizations to help expand their program.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>HopeLine Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Verizon Wireless and Verizon Foundation have conducted a program HopeLine recently and presented grants of $280,000 to six statewide domestic violence partners to help non-profit organizations that offer support and programs for domestic violence prevention, its <a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/verizon-grants-help-48-england-132400564.html\" target=\"_blank\">statement<\/a> revealed.\u00a0Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) indicated that the grants were meant to educate teens on the healthy relationships, boost training period for first responders apart from medical professionals and increase important support services for survivors, as well as, their families.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ)\u00a0disclosed that HopeLine has collected over 10.8 million phones since 2001 and donated not only 180,000 HopeLine phones but also provided free airtime to non-profit organizations throughout the nation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ)\u00a0has created the foundation with a focus on providing survivors of domestic violence with resources to not only allow them to get continuous treatment and recovery but also to support the wellness and health of affected families. Aside from this, men were also engaged to take efforts to end violence against women apart from educating teens on the healthy relationships.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Investment of $77 Million<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Verizon said that it was focusing its attention to end domestic violence for over a decade now through its different business units, as well as, its philanthropic foundation. For this, it has already invested over $77 million in grants to domestic violence prevention organizations besides shelters from 2000 onwards.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ)\u00a0said that it was supporting a wide range of programs such as educating teens on preventing dating violence apart from healthier relationships, engaging men as advocates and role models for prevention and provides training healthcare practitioners and first time responders on abuse signs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Management Speaks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Verizon Wireless President for New England Region, Christine Berberich, said that its aim was to recognize the organizations\u2019 innovative work that vigorously supports domestic violence survivors in communities. He added that\u00a0Verizon Communications Inc.
