Boston, MA 09\/26\/2014 (wallstreetpr) \u2013 Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD)<\/strong> (Closed: 107.34, Down: 1.26%) had a down day again after two sessions of small rise. The last rise from the last week low of $99.23 has been punctuated by down days nearly every alternate day and hence doesn\u2019t look powerful enough to be called an impulsive wave. The daily candle has shadows on both ends, suggesting indecision at the higher levels and not the utter dominance of the bulls everybody expects when it comes to this particular stock.<\/p>\n

The volume is not that spectacular at 15.4 million against the average of 13.65 million. Coupled with this ordinary volume pattern, the lower highs and higher lows formed this month till now, at least as long as the high of $110.64 is not breached, point towards the possibility of a Triangle formation. If a triangle is really formed, then it would most probably be the pause before the next phase of the major uptrend and not any reversal. But the triangle generally comes just before the last phase of the major trending move and signals the end of that particular trend is not very far away.<\/p>\n

But just a look at the longer term picture of the stock dispels any negative thoughts and clearly shows it to be one of the most perfect candidates for investments. The long term chart, in the logarithmic scale, shows the entire rise from the 2011 bottom of $17.22 to the September 2014 high of $110.64 to be contained in a perfect channel with the upper boundary or resistance coming at $123 and the lower boundary or the support coming at $85 for now. Granted, only the real long term investors would keep a note of these levels and normal short term investors would be much more interested in the immediate support level near $101 but it still pays to know that the stock is very strong structurally.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
