(NASDAQ:SNPS)<\/strong> said that some of its digital and custom design tool have received TSMC certification for their 16-nm FinFET+ platforms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>16nm FinFET Certification<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Synopsys, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNPS) yesterday announced that the company\u2019s custom and digital tools form Galaxy\u2122 Design Platform are ready to be used with TSMC 10nm FinFET, as well as 16nm FinFET+ procedures. The company reported that it has completed all the V0.9 certifications, and the V1.0 certifications are in process. According to a <a href=\"http:\/\/news.synopsys.com\/2014-09-25-Synopsys-Tools-Achieve-TSMC-Certification-for-16-nm-FinFET-Process-and-Entered-10-nm-FinFET-Collaboration\" target=\"_blank\">news<\/a> release of the company, Synopsys expects the completion of the V1.0 certifications within a couple of months. Synopsys said that now since the tools have been enhanced to fulfill the requirements of the 10nm FinFET process, users can deploy them for their design starts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>10nm FinFET Agreement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With this, Synopsys, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNPS) also announced entering into a collaborative agreement with TSMC. The two companies have entered the N10 partnership, they announced. The collaboration has allowed customers to use Synopsys\u2019 industry-leading tools to exploit the area benefits, performance and most importantly, the power of the 10nm and 16 nm process technologies. The collaboration is based on an extensive engineering partnership and hence, facilitates providing significant technologies, such as interoperable process design kits, extraction technology documents, physical verification runsets, and routing rules. The FinFET based designs can now be implemented using the silicon-tested Synopsys solution. The system-on-Chip design teams have initiated work on the FinFET designs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Mutual Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Synopsys, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNPS) and TSMC both seek to help mutual customers of the companies through this collaboration. The partnership enables customers to maximize the performance and power of TSMC\u2019s processes with the help of Synopsys\u2019 tools. In this context, TSCM\u2019s senior director, Suk Lee said that the collaboration is based on significant design-enabling technologies, which has benefitted both the companies in a productive way.
