The fund believes that the proposed civil settlement would deprive shareholders of vital information on the amount to be paid to plaintiff attorneys since it was one of the key terms of the agreement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While the pension fund has not revealed more than what it said in its letter to the Judge, attorney for the shareholders, Mark Molumphy, said that the pension fund only wanted the company to disclose the amount of fees to be paid to the lawyers, which would be addressed. Therefore, he does not find any issue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Background Of Settlement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In November 2012, in a startling revelation, Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ)\u00a0said that it was writing down $8.8 billion and that over $5 billion was alleged to have been linked with the inflated financials and accounting frauds committed by Autonomy Plc executives. The company acquired Autonomy only a year before. However, predictably, the executives and the Britain company have denied committing any wrongdoing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The angered shareholders have claimed damages from HP. Later, lawyers representing the shareholders have agreed to drop all claims under a settlement deal with the company. This included claims against former and current officials of HP. As per the deal, the company has also agreed to make changes in its review of potential mergers. As a result, lawyers representing shareholders have agreed to sort out the fees amount in the case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) also expressed the hope that they would be able to disclose the fees to be paid to the Judge Breyer in advance of the settlement hearing case.
