FCC initiated the challenge so as to ensure that all the states of America have at least a sole Gigabit community by the next year. Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), while taking up this challenge in full stride, is trying to prove that when it comes to satisfaction of bandwidth demand, there is no restriction at all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>About the <\/strong><strong>6 Gigabit Shared Port Adapter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also known as 6G SPA, the new technology is an uplifted version of 3G SPA line card. It allows cable MSOs to optimize their embedded cable for a range of functions, some of which are aforementioned. Apart from those functions, the new technology offered by Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), will enable the MSOs in increasing downstream channels from 1,152 to 1,728. Also, for doing so, there will be no need of adding more rack space. 6G SPA will be installed along with the standard line cards of uBR10K. It is this combination that will allow increasing the number of channels meant for down-streaming.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The company announced that over the coming months, the trial of 6G SPA capabilities shall begin through global MSO customers.
