As per the information revealed by a person familiar to this issue, CS was not paying attention to various warnings given by the regulators.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Road so far: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recently The Swiss Bank received a letter from the Federal Reserve. The regulatory authority asked the bank to pay attention immediately to several problems regarding the sale and underwriting of leveraged loans. Other problems stated in the letter included high-interest rate loans that were distributed to private equity firms and other market players to finance the purchase transactions of various companies and properties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The letter that Federal Reserve sent to Credit Suisse Group AG (ADR) (NYSE:CS) was titles as &#8216;Matters Requiring Immediate Attention.&#8217; It stated problems with the bank&#8217;s attention and devotion towards the guidelines that were issued last year by the Federal Reserve. The person familiar to this issue revealed that U.S. regulatory authority warned the bank through that letter in regard with lending loans to the parties that already had too much debt or very less protection. He further said that chance of default was very high with such lending transactions. There are a lot of banking institutions in the country that tend to ignore the guidelines of regulatory authorities in order to fulfill their operational and sales targets. Due to this reason, Federal Reserve sent the letter to Credit Suisse Group AG (ADR) (NYSE:CS) and other banking institutions as well in order to remind them about their duties and responsibilities. In case the company doesn&#8217;t give a satisfactory response to this letter, then tougher actions are surely on cards. There is no clear information about other banks than Credit Suisse Group AG (ADR) (NYSE:CS) has come out as if they have received such letter or not.
