Three of its fiber-optic cables in three different construction projects were cut, which not only created a buzz in the company, but also troubled over 50,000 internet and mobile subscribers. Later, it repaired all the cables and restored the mobile and internet services. Although it seemed like restoring all the services would take several hours, but FTR did restore them by 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Areas That Were Affected:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As per the reports, Hudson, north Normal, Gridley, Kappa, El Paso and Lake Bloomington areas were affected by cable cut problem after a Stark Excavating crew working near Linden Street and North-town Road cut one of the cables by mistake. These cables were also used by other businesses like <strong>AT&amp;T Inc. (NYSE:T)<\/strong> cellular service. Reporters tried to ask the management of the company about this issue, but no clear answer was provided. Although Wayne Clayton, Director of safety and risk management at Stark said that it was not carelessness, rather it was just a mistake that could have been done by anyone for that matter. He further added that the problem was resolved within least possible time as soon as the crew responsible for it came to know.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>How did it happen: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to Clayton, a crew responsible for taking care of cables in that area was digging-in hands to repair a wire line. While doing regular repairing work, it exposed an inactive and abandoned TV cable. They tried to move it out without knowing that a Frontier line was underneath. In an attempt to remove that abandoned TV cable, the backhoe bucket cut the Frontier Cable.
