The company seemed to be taking different initiatives just like its peer <strong>Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)<\/strong> so that it does not depend heavily on search engine alone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Powerful Cluster<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The company had indicated that the newly developed computer cluster would be highly powerful with approximately 100 billion digitally stimulated neutral connections, <a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/baidu-builds-largest-computer-brain-043833771.html\">Bloomberg reported<\/a>. Baidu Inc (ADR) (NASDAQ:BIDU) predicted 100 times powerful compared with \u2018Google Brain\u2019 of 2012 project, according to Chief Scientist of the company, Andrew Ng. He said that the work on designing the project was going on in Silicon Valley, and the development would be done in Beijing. He expects the project to be completed in approximately six months.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Shift Towards Image<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Chief Scientist of Baidu Inc (ADR) (NASDAQ:BIDU) had also reportedly said that online searches would move towards pictures and voice based accounting for at least 50% of the total searches in five years time. The growing usage of mobile would also force the users to find ways to seek information quickly through voice or image. Therefore, more powerful computing was needed to recognize the image better.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In order to perform better, building up bigger computing had become a necessity. The Chief Scientist said that his initial task was to recognize images better and create computer vision. He predicted that the Baidu system would be ten times more powerful compared to a computer cluster showcased at the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab last year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Interestingly, the company\u2019s Chief Scientist was involved in Stanford project, as well as, Google Brain before he moved to the Chinese search engine company.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Network<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Baidu Inc (ADR) (NASDAQ:BIDU)\u00a0had disclosed that it was using the same kind of powerful servers that Stanford researchers had used with graphics process unit computing compared to the central processing unit technology adopted for Google\u2019s
