It indicated that phishing would continue to remain effective tactics for infiltrating enterprise networks and that 80% of the business users were not in a position to detect scams.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Fails To Detect Scams<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The report titled as \u2018McAfee Labs Threats Report: August 2014\u2019 said that it had conducted test on the business users\u2019 capacity to identify online scams and it surprised that 80% of its participants were not able to identify even one of the seven phishing emails, a <a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/mcafee-labs-report-highlights-success-040100272.html\">statement issued by the company said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Moreover, the results exposed the vulnerability of the most sensitive departments such as HR and finance departments, where most sensitive corporate data are held. Their performance was termed as worst in detecting scams as it failed by a margin of 4% &#8211; 9%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the last one-year period, it could collect close to one million new sites with over 250K new phishing URLs collected during the last quarter alone. It said that it could witness a significant growth in the way sophistication of phising attacks on top of the total increase in volume. While mass campaign on phising was rampant by the cyber criminals throughout the world, the U.S. maintains its position of hosting more number of phishing URLs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Other Key Findings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">McAfee said that it joined international enforcement agencies to take down CryptoLocker and Gameover Zeus by blocking over 125K CryptoLocker domains apart from sinkholing more than 120K Gameover Zeus domains. Copycats, however, were on the uptick producing fresh ransomware variants or financial-targeting malware through the leaked Zeus source code usage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) also disclosed that new malware samples grew 1% only during the second quarter. However, over 31 million new samples suggest that it was the biggest amount witnessed in a single quarter.
