(NYSE:VMI)<\/strong> has expanded its product offerings in the remote monitoring and control technology segment in agriculture. It has successfully <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/article\/2014-08-25\/al.gqUl5ta3k.html\">acquired<\/a> a majority stake in AgSense. The acquired company has got advanced WagNet network that enables the growers to control the entire set of farming operations. The major decisions related to irrigation are taken on the basis of the crop, field and weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The partnership<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Leonard Adams, Group President of Global irrigation Division, said that Valmont Industries, Inc. (NYSE:VMI) is delighted to enter into a long-term partnership with Agsense. The partnership will provide Valmont with the data driven technology that can be further utilized by the growers to enhance the yields and increase the water efficiency. The customer oriented products and services of Agsense in line with the Valmont\u2019s strategy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">AgSense products will perfectly complement the leading BaseStation\u2122 products of Valmont. Consumers will benefit from the expanded line of integrated solutions in the market. Terry Schiltz, President of AgSense, said that the new partnership with Valmont will strengthen their position in North America. It will also provide a strong platform to accelerate the growth on the international platform.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The performance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Valmont Industries, Inc. (NYSE:VMI)\u00a0was bound to take some key steps to improve its performance. It reported its second quarter results in the month of July. The net earnings came lower at $64.0 million comparable to $89.6 million in the prior-year quarter. However, the net earnings of $2.38 per share were in line with the analyst&#8217;s estimates. The net sales came lower at $842.60 million comparable to $878.66 million in the prior-year quarter. It was lower than the analysts\u2019 estimates of $856.93 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Valmont also cut down its earnings forecast for the full year. It expects the earnings to come in the range of $9.35 to $9.65 per share lower than the previous guidance of $10.00 to $10.50 per share.
