It&#8217;s not only about profit and loss, but SHLD has not been able to generate decent revenue for a long time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What&#8217;s the background story: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The company has not been able to generate decent revenue; on top of that the margin also has not improved over the last few months. The main reason of the negative performance is but slumping electronics sales, as per one of the spokespersons of Sears Holdings Corp (NASDAQ:SHLD). Although it has tried to enhance the efficiency of the operations lately, this has resulted in negative financial results.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What&#8217;s the way out:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The only way that seems reliable to the management of SHLD is but improvement in sales in coming months. In other words, Sears Holdings Corp (NASDAQ:SHLD) relies on entirely upon its online business and membership programs. According to one of the SHLD representatives, &#8220;We are going through very tough time now, and if we don&#8217;t perform well in online business and membership programs segments, then it will be difficult for us to back ourselves.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Road ahead: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The management eyes 130 stores closure this year due to non-performance and the number can even go higher by the end of this year. The other options that it is seriously thinking over include divesting its 51% stake in Sears Canada Inc and spinning off its auto-center business. It&#8217;s not that old when company decided to spin-off its Lands&#8217; End apparel unit due to non-performance issue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Sears Holdings Corp (NASDAQ:SHLD) is controlled by hedge-fund billionaire, Edward Lampert.
