It is a counteraction to the customer feedback.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The ingredient:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A seaweed extract, named Carrageenan, will, in fact, be removed from the Horizon and Silk items, according to a company spokesperson, Sara Loveday. The seaweed extract is used as an emulsifier and thickener. The element, which has been phased out, has been under the ray of criticism in some circles. The natural food promoters pointed out to the animal studies that strongly propose the fact that it leads to gastrointestinal inflammation, among other problems.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Company to remove it:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The company spokeswoman stated that the company is still contemplating that the ingredient is safe. In spite of that, WhiteWave Foods Co (NYSE:WWAV) planned to phase it out owing to the active feedback from its valuable customers. She continued that when the company got to a certain point of realizing how verbally and intensely a customer feels about it, WhiteWave Foods Co (NYSE:WWAV) felt it was time to make a change.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Increasing mobilization:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The incident is a mere instance of a well-known food manufacturer eradicating an element, which was found objectionable by the consumers. It&#8217;s been observed that the companies are coming under intense and escalating pressure from customer feedbacks and reviews regarding its ingredients, irrespective of whether the ingredient is indeed is safe or not. However, over a communication with Hari, the company revealed that carrageenan will be taken away from Horizon flavoured milk in the first quarter of the coming year.
