{"id":28675,"date":"2014-08-19T09:10:04","date_gmt":"2014-08-19T13:10:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cablemanpro.com\/wallstreetpr\/?p=28675"},"modified":"2014-08-19T09:10:04","modified_gmt":"2014-08-19T13:10:04","slug":"general-electric-company-nysege-units-dementia-research-evokes-overwhelming-response","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cablemanpro.com\/wallstreetpr\/general-electric-company-nysege-units-dementia-research-evokes-overwhelming-response-28675","title":{"rendered":"General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) Unit\u2019s Dementia Research Evokes Overwhelming Response"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Boston, MA 08\/19\/2014 (wallstreetpr) \u2013 Diversified business conglomerate <strong>General Electric Company (NYSE:GE)<\/strong> subsidiary GE Healthcare\u2019s new dementia research evoked stunning demand for \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/ge-healthcare-dementia-research-reveals-070000890.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Value of Knowing\u2019<\/a> survey conducted by it globally in ten countries on not curable neurological disorders including Parkinson\u2019s and Alzheimer\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Good Response<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) indicated that it had got a tremendous response to its survey with three out of the four people evincing interest to find out the type of neurological disorder they have even if it meant that there was no cure available. It indicated that a whopping 81% of the respondents were eager to identify not curable neurological disorder even if it affected someone closer to them. Interestingly, women outnumbered men with 84% versus 76%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The healthcare company also found that the respondents\u2019 numbering about 51% was even prepared to spend for a diagnosis themselves rather than depend on health insurance providers or government. However, 94% of the respondents wanted government or insurance providers to bear diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The sentiment of spending by the respondents\u2019 themselves were wide in India and China with 71% and 83% of the respondents ready to pay for the diagnosis. It was also echoed by nearly one-third of the respondents in the U.S., United Kingdom, and Japan whereas it was one-half in Russia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Global Phenomena<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alzheimer\u2019s Disease International Executive Director, Marc Wortmann, said that nearly 44 million people were currently affected by dementia globally, and this would nearly double in the next two decades as the global population ages.
