The overall performance for the three-month period was quite satisfying and progressive.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Net revenue now and then:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The net revenue earned by Vipshop in the second quarter was 136.1% higher than the prior year&#8217;s same quarter. Vipshop Holdings Ltd \u2013 ADR (NYSE:VIPS) generated net revenue of $829.4 million in 2014, while, in 2013, it was $351.3 million. Needless to say, the growth in revenue was primarily steered by increase in active customers as well as total orders. The quality performance in the global arena has increased the company&#8217;s 3Q revenue estimation to $850 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Increase in active customer number:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The active customer base with comparison to the last year&#8217;s 2Q rose 167.9%. At present Bishop have 9.3 million of active customers, which in 2013 was only 3.5 million. The number of the total order increased from 11.0 million to 26.3 million, up by 138.4% within a gap of 12 months.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Gross profit in 2Qs:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vipshop Holdings Ltd \u2013 ADR (NYSE:VIPS) reported gross profit of $205.8 million in 2Q2014, while the gross profit last year was $82.6 million. The increase in gross profit represents 149.0% hike compared to last year&#8217;s same quarter. However, gross margin shifted to 24.8% from 23.5%. The progress was driven by the expansion of the company as well as Vipshop&#8217;s marketplace business.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Improvement in net earnings:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vipshop Holdings Ltd \u2013 ADR (NYSE:VIPS)\u00a0earned net income of $26.4 million, 192.1% increase from the figures posted a year back. The net income in 2Q2013 was nearly $9.0 million. Comparing the earnings per share, in 2Q2014 the holding company reported EPS of $0.44. A year ago the EPS was $0.16.
