(NYSE:DAL)<\/strong> carried the maximum number of customers in 2013. The busiest route for DAL throughout the year was between Taipei and Hong Kong. The information was presented in the World Air Transport Statistics&#8217;s 58th edition which was described as a &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.canoe.ca\/Travel\/News\/2014\/08\/12\/21869686-relaxnews.html\">yearbook<\/a>&#8216; of annual performance of the airline industry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What Else Was Presented in &#8216;Yearbook&#8217;:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main objective of International Air Transport Association behind the publication of this yearbook was to present the growth that airline industry has seen over these years. When the first commercial flight took off 100 years ago, nobody would have believed that it would come this far, but it has and still there is a long way to go. Year 2014 is the 100th anniversary of commercial aviation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When Wright brothers invented the aircraft in 1914, it could carry only one person at a time. Over these 100 years, aviation has become a $2.4 trillion industry that carries 48 million tons of cargo and three billion flyers on around 100,000 flights a day. Previous year was a boon for the Asian airlines as they carried around 1.012 billion people throughout the year, Europe with 825.9 million came second followed by North America with 818.9 million people. The maximum traffic was recorded in South Africa (both international and domestic) whileChina had the maximum traffic in Asia Pacific. In the Middle East Region, it was United Arab Emirates that witnessed the maximum traffic whereas Americans recorded more traffic than any other state in North America.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Top Five Airlines on the basis of customers:\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When it comes to top five airlines on the basis of the number of passengers carried in 2013, Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL)\u00a0topped the list with a huge number of 120.6 million. Company&#8217;s low-cost fairs, excellent servicing and world class amenities played a major role in grabbing the most number of customer deals last years.
