The main objective behind this announcement is but the long-term sustainable growth of the company in African continent. KO has already made an announcement to invest around $12 billion between 2010 to 2020 in Africa, and the latest announcement will take this figure past $17billion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Why KO is focusing on Africa<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The\u00a0 management of KO and its bottling partners think that this investment will fund cooling and distribution equipment production and new manufacturing lines in Africa. It will further result in new jobs creation and other opportunities across the African Supply Chain of KO. Through this investment, KO will also be able to take initiative on sustainable sourcing, water access, economic empowerment women, improvements in operational efficiency and community well-being.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Specific Focused Areas in Africa<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Coca-Cola Company (NYSE:KO)\u00a0also signed a letter of intent to launch an initiative for consistent sourcing of local ingredients in the production of KO&#8217;s products. KO entered into a <a href=\"http:\/\/businesswireindia.com\/news\/news-details\/coca-cola-invests-additional-us5-billion-long-term-sustainable-growth-\/40236\">partnership<\/a> with New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition for the same cause. Through this initiative, KO will focus on the production of mangoes and tea in Kenya, production of mangoes in Malawi and production of pineapple and mangoes in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Africa has a great potential in terms of agriculture; therefore KO wants to explore the opportunities that are available in Africa.
