(NASDAQ:GOOGL)<\/b>, the web giant looked into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.in\/Google-Except-For-Child-Pornography-We-Do-NOT-Snoop-Your-Email-Looking-For-Crimes\/articleshow\/39656696.cms\">accounts<\/a> of Gmail users after it leaked information about a sex offender. Due to Google&#8217;s efforts, respective authorities arrested the men after looking into his Gmail account which had images of child pornography. Google&#8217;s initiative raised a question over privacy of the conversations done through Gmail.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>What Google has to say: <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From normal public to industry experts, everyone started pointing on Google and felt insecure, but Google&#8217;s spokesperson said that the company doesn&#8217;t look into anyone&#8217;s Gmail account unless it has relation with child pornography. There is no chance of a normal innocent photo to be considered as an illegal one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In today&#8217;s time, most of the crimes are done with the help of technology and a lot of information is transferred through emails. It is the main reason Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL)\u00a0has decided to report any such doubtful activity to The National Center for Missing &amp; Exploited Children (NCMEC).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>How Things Are Executed:<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL)\u00a0has a huge database therefore it gives each image a unique fingerprint at the time it is entered into the database. On the basis of the fingerprint, Google can easily identify the image from its database, be it Gmail, Google Plus, or search engine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The fingerprints are created by The National Center for Missing &amp; Exploited Children with the help of the database of children. Each image is given a separate fingerprint or in tech form each image is given a &#8216;hash&#8217;. When Google scan web or Gmail, it looks for those fingerprints. As soon as it finds any such fingerprint, it has to the information with The National Center for Missing &amp; Exploited Children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Is it a concern for you:<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Searching for specific fingerprint is different from searching for any keyword. So if you send a photo of your baby playing in the bath tub to your grandmother, then Google Inc.
