(NYSE:DG) <\/b>announced opening of <a href=\"http:\/\/readingeagle.com\/money\/article\/dollar-general-to-open-in-east-cocalico\">a new store<\/a> in East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County Pennsylvania. The opening extravaganza will include the first 50 shoppers being gifted\u00a0 $10 Dollar General gift cards and the first 200 shoppers will be gifted its trademark tote bags.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Plan a New Store in Texas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With Tool City Council, Texas, approving the rezoning of two acres land near Highway 274 to a commercial one, <b>Dollar General Corp. (NYSE:DG) <\/b>announced its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cedarcreeklake.com\/real-estate-info--Dollar-General-to-open-new-store-in-Tool-on-Hwy-274\/1961\">plans <\/a>to set up a store at the site after a fair amount of survey. In spite of an opposition from a nearby school and church officials, the locals are welcoming the store due to its proximity and convenience. The store would have staff of 5 to 10 from the neighborhood. However, the council will not allow to the store to sell liquor due to safety issues.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Pamper Diaper Headache<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recently, Dollar General Corp. (NYSE:DG) offered a $9.5 sale price on \u201call counts and all sizes\u201d of Pamper diapers deal. This is affordable for the stores as it houses only small number of packets of the diapers. However <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/twincities\/morning_roundup\/2014\/07\/dollar-general-diaper-discount-creates-headaches.html\">this sale <\/a>has created a mess at the larger retail stores of Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) and Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT) where customers were asking similar deals.\u00a0 Target made it clear that the \u201call counts and all sizes\u201d is not specific enough though it has to confront some unsatisfied customers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dollar General Way a Head of Dollar Tree<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dollar tree has announced acquisition of a similar business Family Dollar to ward off competition from retailers such as Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT) and Dollar General Corp. (NYSE:DG). It is observed that the Dollar Tree ad Family Dollar put together would have quarterly sales of about $2.25 billion, more than $150 million per quarter in net income and $6.4 billion in assets. However, Dollar General has more than $4.5 billion in sales in previous quarter with nearly $222 in net income on assets amounting to $10.6 billion. Though Family dollar\u00a0 operates in similar lines of Dollar General, the acquisition of Family Dollar by Dollar Tree still has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestreet.com\/story\/12822470\/1\/dollar-general-beats-family-dollar-and-dollar-tree-put-together.html?puc=yahoo&amp;cm_ven=YAHOO\">long way <\/a>to go match with the Dollar General Corp.
