(NYSE:GBX)<\/b> declared its first award for Tank car of the future with an order for 3500 units from multiple customers. In addition to this, order for other 4200 railway cars across all types of railcars was also received. Therefore,total railway cars to be constructed is 7700 having a valuation of more than $960 milln.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Moreover, the company also stated that several customers are interested in retrofit of tank cars which were built pre 2011 and currently operates in combustible commodity service.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Joined Hands WithWatco<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Greenbrier Companies Inc. (NYSE:GBX) recently announced its joint venture with Watco Cos. under new name as GBW Railcar Services. Under this joint venture, repair, refurbishment and maintenance of rail cars will be carried out. The company expects to receive several requests of maintenance and retrofit contracts post its official launch later in this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Greenbrier Chairman and CEO, William Furman said that they are inspired and assure to provide safety and security through leasing company, railway cars and shippers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>The Specifications<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Greenbrier Companies Inc. (NYSE:GBX) has designed its future car tank so that company can transport crude oil, ethanol &amp; other flammable stuff in the area of North America. The car is equipped with most sophisticated safety features containing thicker steel, robust protection at top and bottom. The shells have been jacketed with ceramic insulation. Additionally, it has features which produce a discharge of contents during derailment, which slow down the pool fires which otherwise can cause an untoward incident. Due to this feature, the fire will not spread rapidly during the derailment and will give more time to emergency travelers to limit the expected risk of damage and protect the environment too. The capacity volume of the new design will be equal to tank car DOT-111 carrying a volume of 30000 gallons. The likelihood of the tank car to spill in case of derailment will be measured by Conditional Probability of Release (CPR).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Greenbrier Companies Inc.
