Boston, MA 06\/11\/2014 (wallstreetpr) \u2013 Charles Schwab Corp (NYSE:SCHW)<\/b> announced earlier this week that it will host the documentary, Girl Rising at its branches across the country. The company’s plan to screen the award-winning documentary is to take the message of the movie to its clients, employees and other people concerned. For this, the company has renewed a licensing agreement with action campaign Girl Rising.<\/p>\n
Renewed Agreement<\/b><\/p>\n
Earlier, during 2013, the company had an agreement, under which it showcased 100 screenings of the movie and the current renewed agreement will be in effect for the entire 2014. The story depicted in Girl Rising revolves around the lives of nine young women, each belonging to a different developing nation. The movie directed by Richard E. Robbins, an Oscar Nominee, portrays the hard work and courage of these young women to fight all odds in order to gain education and strive to improve their lives. Ethiopia, Haiti, Cambodia and Afghanistan are some of the developing countries included in the film.<\/p>\n
Kelly Livers, who is vice president and regional branch executive of\u00a0Charles Schwab Corp (NYSE:SCHW) and also oversees the Schwab community of Women’s Interative Network (WINs), said that the company strongly believes in the power of personal ownership to bring change in own’s life and society. He said that the story of Girl Rising sends inspiration to the society about the strength and will of the young women to move to a better life. It is to be noted that WINs is a community started by the company that aims to provide support and assistance to the women to independentaly take financial decision on their own.<\/p>\n
Barriers Broken<\/b><\/p>\n
In the meanwhile, President of Girl Rising campaign, Tara Abrahams said that the documentary shows the various barriers and limitations that women confront in their lives across the globe and also finds success in establishing as how these women overcome them to find their destiny.
