The founder of Starbucks Foundation, Howard Schultz, said that it is going to invest a sum of $3 million over a period of three years in china. The amount includes a grant of $1.5 million to China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF). Governed by the social enterprise, Give2Asia, which dedicates itself to establishing a civil society across Asia, the company\u2019s commitment is directed with the objective of unfolding lifelong leadership and educational opportunities for the country\u2019s youth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Opportunities For The Youth<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the $1.5 million that Starbucks has offered to CSCLF, through Give2Asia, CSCLF plans to assemble experts in various areas including business, academics, training and youth development with the goal of establishing a unique curriculum that is a blend of collaborative communications, business acumen and social awareness that aims to develop leaders in China. The \u201cYouth Leadership Development Program\u201d will also provide students with the opportunity to be mentored with senior leaders of Starbucks. They can later take up training courses offered by the Starbucks China University or alternatively choose to participate in corporate internships with Starbucks in China. Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX) had established the Starbucks China University in Nov 2012 and has since then provided training of as many as 725,000 hours to almost 1,400 partners.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX) Foundation has been actively addressing China\u2019s relevant needs since 2006, after it entered into a partnership with China Soong Ching Ling Foundation. Together, the two have provided 3,000 rural teachers encouraging innovative teaching methodology, helped 1,200 aspiring teachers avail college scholarships and supported more than 900 environmental
