(NASDAQ:AMZN) did everything starting from raised prices on titles of Hachette, to removing pre-order buttons, to increasing shipping time for all the books of Hachette, to anything that anyone could think of. Critics once thought that Amazon would try to rule the publishing market and would do everything possible to gain the maximum market share. The recent event has proved all the critics right in each and every aspect that they thought about Amazon. The dispute with Hachette shows how desperate Amazon is to establish monopoly market in publishing industry.<\/p>\n

According to the market experts, it won’t be long before customers start reacting on Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN)\u2019s steps, spreading bad PR, last but not the least, customer dissatisfaction. Jeff Bezos, the Co Founder of Amazon once said that customers were like “north star for him” but the steps taken by him lately have represented things in a different way. It seems like north pointing star for him is above ‘customers service’ which is not a good sign.<\/p>\n
Amazons tactics seem to serve customers on second priority and self on first, but Richard L. Brandt said when asked about the issue,” It may seem rough at present, but there are chances that it will benefit publishers and customers in long run.”<\/p>\n
Everything started with slashing prices of e-books of Hachette which resulted in direct increase in profit for the company.
