The company has announced that it will take care of the exhibition costs for all the independent game developers that will appear at the TGS\u2019s Indie Game Arena in September.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Indie Game Arena is an event that provides an opportunity for individual and corporate developers to showcase their original game ideas. Participating individual developer must have no more than $100,000 in annual sales. Corporate developers much have no more than $500,000 in annual sales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The move by Sony Corp (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) to meet the financial cost of exhibiting at the high-profile games event once again reveals the company\u2019s strong relationship with independent developers. In any case, Sony is known have programs aid at reaching out to startup developers that are not currently backed by any investor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2009, the company launched Pub Fund program that extended financial support to independent game developers. The program was renewed in 2011 following its success during the initial phase. According to Sony&#8217;s VP of Developer and Publisher relations, Adam Boyes, independent developers are the heartbeat of the gaming industry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Cost Of Sponsoring The Program<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sony will pay about $980 for each exhibitor at the TGS for the first four days of the event. It will pay about $320 for each developer on the last two days of the event during which the public will also be allowed into the Arena. The company has not yet disclosed the number of developers or teams of developers that have shown interest in its offer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Unsettling The Rivals<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sony Corp (ADR) (NYSE:SNE)\u2019s move to support independent game developers leaves a lot to be desired.
