Boston, MA 05\/13\/2014 (wallstreetpr) \u2013 \u00a0A survey carried out by Forrester Consulting on behalf of Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE:DLR)<\/b> reveals that the business and IT leaders at midmarket companies, places priority to the network connectivity, resiliency levels and control aspect while making decision regarding the new data center facility and co-location investments.<\/p>\n
Survey Results<\/b><\/p>\n
Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE:DLR)’s 2014 survey that aimed to study the data center trends in midmarket firms with uptp $500 million revenue in North America. Some of the earlier surveys were centered aroung global enterprise firms who have $1 billion or more revenue. The survey initiated direct contact with the targeted group of data center decision makers in connection with a wide range of topics, which includes budgets, current facilities, future plans and investment criteria.<\/p>\n
As per the responses, the decision makers considered network connectivity options, inclusive of carrier density and availability as a top priority while deciding about the new data center facility. Resiliency level and data center facility availability followed the next top preference for the leaders. At the same time, 78% of the respondents considered level of control over the facility as an important aspect, followed by clout access and other partners, which were important to 75% of the respondents.<\/p>\n
In Right Direction<\/b><\/p>\n
Commenting on the survey results, Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE:DLR)’s CEO Bill Stein said that the outcome of the survey will support the company’s understanding about the midmarket clients requirements. He said that the company’s midmarket clients are growingly looking for a single source for all their data center necessities, which includes not just space, power, colling but also a broader inclusion of strategic partners like network services, cloud access and managed service providers.
