The Company has received fresh orders of $58.6 million for metal furnaces that can be used on a variety of industrial purposes. The Company expects an increase in order backlog and anticipates revenue from these orders in the 2Q2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Backlog<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">GT mainly operates in three businesses- sapphire, polysilicon and photovoltaic. As of December 31, 2013, GT\u2019s total backlog $602 million for sales of equipments across three businesses. It includes sapphire of $292 million, polysilicon of $299 million and $11 million from photovoltaic products. Equipment sales mainly drive revenue for the company and Apple as new sapphire customer will further increase the volume for sapphire materials.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">GT Advanced Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:GTAT) expects fresh equipment orders from new products such as GT annealing furnace, SiClone, HiCz and Hyperion in 2014. With increasing applications across industries, these new products will provide future growth for the Company.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Long term prospects<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sapphire business continues to drive growth for GT in 2014 due to growing demand for in LED lighting, consumer electronics and new applications. The Company expects more than 80% of total revenue from sapphire businesses that help to improve revenue and earnings in 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fresh orders from industrial products will further increase GT\u2019s revenue and expects at a range of $600-$800 million. GT also expects gross margins at a range of 25%-27% and an adjusted (non-GAAP) EPS of $0.02 to $0.18 in FY2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As of December 31, 2013, GT Advanced Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:GTAT) has a cash balance of $593 million and total debt of $456 million. So, solid financial position helps the Company to continue investing in new technologies to bring growth in equipment orders in foreseeable years.
