The companies are after the online advertisement dollar, and they are doing all that is possible to tap the most of that revenue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the latest move, Google Inc acquired Titan Aerospace, a company that makes drones capable of delivering cost-effective Internet communications in areas with unmet Internet needs. Facebook was reportedly circling the same drone company for acquisition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Titan Aerospace, manufacturer of high-altitude unmanned vehicles is based in New Mexico. The company&#8217;s high flying drones are powered by solar. Google said that it will keep the company&#8217;s operations in New Mexico, and it is also likely to retain the management. The acquisition of Titan Aerospace may not see Google flying Internet drones overnight, but the company is expected to integrate the team at Titan Aerospace into its Project Loon. The project is an effort by Google to deliver low-cost Internet to remote corners of the world through high-placed balloons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although Facebook lost Titan Aerospace to Google in the latest spate of aggressive acquisitions of promising technologies, the social media giant last month acquired Ascenta, a British company that makes drones. The acquisition, just like that of Titan Aerospace, is aimed to help the company build and fly unmanned vehicles that are capable of stay up for a long duration and cover long distances.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Expanded Internet access<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is combining acquisition of land-based Internet networks and drones to expand Internet access to many corners of the world. In acquiring Internet properties, the company aims to realize double benefits in that it can control its own costs related to bandwidth consumption and also increase traffic to its site that will improve its ad revenue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Free mobile internet<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is currently partnering with various telecom companies in emerging markets through free internet initiative.
