Multiple Users To Get Faster Speed<\/b><\/p>\n
In present scenario, a Wi-Fi network’s full strength can only be better reflected in a single device, and therefore, any subsequent addition of devices over this network would only slow down its speed. So, Qualcomm rightly said that working on this sort of network can be compared to a driver driving through a rush traffic who have to face challenges to get to his destination. Therefore, QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) after an extensive research of seven years has put forward a brand new technology, named MU-MIMO (multi-user, multiple input, multiple output) that will allow networks to transmit data to several groups of users at the same time by using algorithms.<\/p>\n
The company says that the use of MIMO technology can be compared with that of a carpool lane, where the Wi-Fi highway does not change, but forming a group of users allows faster speed on the lane and helping to eliminate congestion on other lanes.<\/p>\n
Targets Device Makers And Networks<\/b><\/p>\n
With the new invention, the company eyes manufacturers of wireless routers, access points as well as smartphone, tablets and other electronics makers to embrace the new MIMO technology enabled chips in their respective devices. The company claims that through the use of the technology by both networks as well as its users will enhance the Wi-Fi speed by two or even threefold.<\/p>\n
The company’s Atheros unit based product management Vice President, Todd Antes said that the devices which does are not MU-MIMO enabled, but work on the technology supported networks, might not be benefitted as much as compared to those which are powered by the MIMO technology, however, they would still see some improvement.
