To gain a strong foothold in the tablet business and to curb the market share of the apple in this segment, Satya Nadela led Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) introduced surface device in the market earlier in the later part of the previous year. They made revenue of $893 million dollar in this business, which is quite an astounding figure. But along with that they have to shell out a whopping $932 million for advertising and promotion and shipping cost, which earned their business a loss of $39 million at the end of the year.<\/p>\n
The reasons behind the failure<\/b><\/p>\n
Though in surface device Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has done a lot of improvements and experiments to lure the clients but all the efforts are in vain and don\u2019t get any success to amaze the users. The main reasons of its failure is probably its inability to support and run the other popular browsers like chrome and fire fox except their own internet explorer which is not widely famous. Along with that another reason behind its incompetency to gain the users favour may be its inability to run the apps, except which are already in there the app store of the device. It is even prove worse in terms of running the wifi and chat messengers like Gtalk.<\/p>\n
Badly handled business<\/b><\/p>\n
Not only because of the features of this touchpad device and other features Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has to confront the loss, but also their way of handling the surface business badly is also another reason for that. The giant has also failed to succeed in making a good profit out of the keypad business of this device. They could not have handled their business in a much worse way than they have done it with this gadget. As surface has not come with a keyboard and a dust cover so the users have to make an additional expenditure to use it.
