The whole idea behind this plan is to prompt consumers to access a version of Windows which will be budget-friendly to them. As per the sources close to the matter, the Redmond, Washington based software giant can roll out the experimental version of the operating system for its Windows 7 users either for a low price or completely free. This is yet another strategy adopted by the company to encourage its users to upgrade their software. Moreover, it is believed that in an effort to catch up with the existing Chromebooks, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) can offer this Bing based version of Windows 8.1 to computer manufacturers as well. Altogether, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)&#8217;s current proposed move appears appealing when compared to what it had done during the Windows 8 launch. This will not only attract more users, but will also help it to monetize its services on the applications and cloud.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Towards A New Direction<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This new thought and the recent top-level executive shuffling indicates that the Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is working hard to make its way out to a new business model under the leadership of its new CEO Satya Nadella, difficult but definitely not impossible. Reportedly, Microsoft&#8217;s marketing and business development heads have been replaced by new personnel this week, a month after Nadella&#8217;s appointment. When most of its rivals are floating their operating systems for free, it becomes extremely imperative for Microsoft to keep up with the changing times.
