Twitter pages would appear more like Facebook\u2019s timelines if it were to keep the new design.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Similarities<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) is testing a new design which is noted on only some users\u2019 pages as of now which has an appearance matching closely with Facebook\u2019s present timelines. The design seems to lay emphasis on photo sharing and includes a wide background picture near the top of the user page with a relatively smaller picture upload section on the left. This is very similar to the users\u2019 profile pages on rival social network Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) currently. The revamped tweet stream is also nothing like Twitter\u2019s signature style as it is seen to be diverting from the strictly vertical timeline it usually features.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>To attracts users <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As compared to the more popular social networking media, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), which has as many as 1.2 billion users, Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) has a relatively low number of users of 241 million. The company said it restructures its product design every year to attract more customers and ensure they stay loyal for a stretched period allured by the newer designs. This move is a part of the company\u2019s microblogging service\u2019s effort to enhance user interests and to boost up the company\u2019s slowing growth. The restructured twitter page expects to offer its users better ease of usage. The pages will now be more content oriented to allow ease of access as compared to a chronological orientation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the initial design test period, Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) had rolled out the new pages only to some users. The first one to notice the difference the new design offers was an editor at Mashable named Matt Petronzio, who reported the changes first on Tuesday.
