The top management at DERYS has not offered much in terms of leadership, and this has been going on for quite sometime. When a company is struggling, much as DRYS has been dong for quite some time now, its management ought to show that they care about shareholders. Unfortunately, DRYS has not done anything that resembles showing such levels of concern and care for its shareholders. The actions that it has taken in the past, have led many shareholders to believe that they are not as valued as they thought, and the next step is to walk out and move elsewhere.<\/p>\n

If you look at the revision of the decision to issue close to $200 million worth of equities, which the company had announced it would shelve, but has now revived, then you would understand why shareholders feel undervalued, unappreciated, and unworthy.\u00a0 It was only recently, on December 5, 2013 to be exact, that DRYS announced its intention to suspend this offering. Less than two months later, the company as reversed a decision it made to the consternation of shareholders and the industry as a whole.<\/p>\n
At first when DryShips Inc (NASDAQ:DRYS) announced that it would suspend the offer, DRYS stock picked up by close to 35 percent. After picking up, the company\u2019s stock has risen to a point where it just hovers around its highest mark in the last 52 weeks. Suddenly, and catching all shareholders by surprise, DRYS announces that it is reviving the offer. From this scenario, it seems as if the company was only interested in getting the best price, and now that the stock is back to its highest levels, DryShips Inc is willing to revive this offer. If this is not a demonstration of the fact that DryShips does not care about its shareholders, will convince you?<\/p>\n
Finally, DryShips Inc (NASDAQ:DRYS) can still salvage this situation. It is a publicly traded company, which has not lost its place as one of the leading shipping companies. However, it needs to prove that it cares for its shareholders and their welfare.
