Nguyen Ha Dong, the developer of this highly-popular game had announced 22 hours ago, that he will be taking down this game from the App Store and that is exactly what he did. At midnight, on Sunday, he took down the game and neither Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) nor <b>Google Inc <\/b><b>(NASDAQ:GOOG)<\/b> users will now be able to access it. However, those who have already downloaded this game onto their devices will still be able to play it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>No legal issues <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On Saturday, the Hanoi-based game developer, Nguyen Ha Dong had tweeted that he will be grounding the game and he had also apologized to the players of this game. He also made it clear that there were no legal issues involved in this grounding. The once obscure game had become an addition for millions of players across the world. There was a time when this was the most downloaded game via the App Store as well as Google Play. The Android version of the Flappy Bird game had been downloaded 50M times and over half a million reviews had been written about it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>A super hit <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many people retweeted Dong and asked him about his decision to ground the game. This was specifically significant as just a day prior; Dong had mentioned that he will also be developing the same game for the <b>Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)\u2019s <\/b>Microsoft<b> <\/b>OS. The ingenious developer had made this game within a few nights, all by himself unlike Angry Birds, another hugely popular game that was created by hundreds of developers. He said that Mario Bros from Nintendo had been the inspiration for Flappy Birds. On an average, Dong had been raking in $50,000\/ day from advertising.
