That improvement was largely due to increase sales in major markets. The company registered a loss of $255 million, down from $494 million a year ago. The performance in the latest quarter was helped by decline in taxes, some expenses and gains in various operations. Troubles for the company came from among other fronts, foreign exchange losses. The company stated that by the end of the year it had $17 billion in debt. For the three months quarter ending December, sales rose by 4 percent to $3.9 billion. As a result, full-year sales were $15.2 billion, indicating a 2 percent increase from 2012.
