Very little has come from the company itself about the specific details of the operating system, yet there is a lot of chatter already going on about the upcoming desktop and laptop PC platform.<\/p>\n

The latest in the ongoing chatter about the operating system is a leaked YouTube video that seems to reveal, and to some extend confirm the expected tweaks in the new platform.<\/p>\n

Among the prominent feature tweaks that the leaked video reveal is reducing the Start screen and Modern apps to less prominent roles. It is emerging from the leaks that in Update 1, users will have the option to skip Start screen and therefore boot directly into desktop. In fact, it is hoped that booting directly to desktop will be enable as a default setting. This really means that Start screen will not only be reduced in importance, but Modern apps (Store apps) will be able to be launched from the Start menu.<\/p>\n
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)<\/b> is clearly making Modern UI a non-essential feature for those who will be using non-touch laptop and desktop PCs. Thus several feature tweaks are expected in Update.<\/p>\n
Update 1 Feature<\/b><\/p>\n
If the information that is already available so far is anything to go by, Update 1 will feature reveal the title bar of Modern apps when the mouse cursor is dragged to the top of the screen. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)<\/b> also makes it possible to minimize the apps, or better yet, dock them to either side of the screen. And this is made possible by Windows Snap feature.<\/p>\n
Perhaps saved for the next major Windows release, Update 1 does not allow users to reduce apps into their own floating windows.<\/p>\n
A prominent redesign of Start screen can also be seen whereby button now appear at the right corner for search and power, as with the previous version, one had to dive into the charms panel to access the features.<\/p>\n
The leaked video of Update 1 shows that it will ship with Internet Explorer 11, featuring a new Enterprise mode. This development will allow IT administrators to specify browser-based services to be offered in compatibility mode.<\/p>\n
