(NASDAQ:CSCO)<\/b> indicates that we could be in for total mobile data traffic usage of up to 190 Exabyte as of 2018. This has been attributed to the massive increase in the usage internet capable devices of all sorts. This year alone mobile data usage could hit highs of up to 2.6 Exabyte a growing trend that has been made possible by the massive production of smartphone by the big players in the industry such as Apple Samsung and Sony.\u00a0 If you are not familiar with an Exabyte sit back and comprehend this, an Exabyte is equivalent to one billion gigabytes or one quintillion (10^18) byte.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Reason behind the massive mobile data usage <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The massive growth in mobile internet usage to regions that were in the past not accessible has been attributed by <b>Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO)<\/b> as the main reason behind the upsurge in mobile data usage. Personal devices and machine to machine connections are expected to hit the 10 billion mark as of 2018 which will essentially be 1.4 times greater than the total world populations. The massive growth in mobile data usage is expected to see the doubling of global network speeds from the $1.4Mbps that were experienced as of 2013 to highs of 2.5Mbps as of 2018<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There is also an anticipation of growth on global mobile users of 4.1 billion in 2013 to highs of 4.9 billion in 2018. Cisco predicts the increase in the number of wearable devices from 21.7 million recorded in 2013 to highs of 176.9 million in 2018.
